We understand that it can be difficult seeing a psychologist for the first time.

It takes courage and commitment. It is a sign of strength and progress that you have made this commitment to yourself. 

In your first sessions, you can expect to discuss your feelings, behaviour, relationships, goals or problems.  We aim to understand your situation and life from your perspective in a supportive, non-judgemental manner. We then work out a plan of how we can make some big, little steps to make changes and improve your situation, mental state and relationships.

Once we have an individual treatment plan that we both feel confident in – each subsequent session we will work through strategies and techniques to add to your “tool kit”.

After each session, you will get an email with a summary of the session and some things to practice/read/try at home.

A psychologist does not prescribe medication but will work closely with your treating doctor or psychiatrist when required.
